Ester en CB01 OFFICIAL. Nel 538 a.C. Assuero, re dei Persiani, sta tenendo un banchetto celebrativo nella città di Susa quando la moglie Vasti si rifiuta di mostrare la sua bellezza agli ospiti. L'episodio spinge Assuero a ripudiare Vasti e a cercare nuova moglie tra le giovani vergini del regno. La sua scelta ricade su Adàssa, la cugina che lo scriba giudeo Mardocheo ha cresciuto come una figlia. Nascondendo le proprie origini e facendosi chiamare Ester, Adàssa troverà una via di uscita a un editto reale che decreta lo sterminio degli ebrei.
