È un martedì notte quando il sergente Tim Hennis viene arrestato con un accusa gravissima: aver trucidato due bambini dopo aver stuprato e ucciso la loro madre, una donna dalla quale Tim aveva acquistato un cane. Diversi testimoni accusano l'uomo, e l'alibi sembra fragile. Il padre di Tim ingaggia i migliori avvocati e detective. Ma Tim dovrà comunque attendere per la sentenza altri quattro anni di carcere.
