He is not convinced that the formula they use is the most appropriate. He is Basque, he feels Basque, he has nothing in common with the rest of Spain. "I am fighting for the freedom of my country." As a result of the kidnapping of Elena Echevarría Zarate, his doubts grow. After a process that his mind constructs on a theatrical stage, Pedro makes a final decision.
